Su ECW un aneddoto raccontato dall'utente Mats002 (Lewan).
Scusate se è un po' lungo, ma credo sia comunque interessante leggerlo:

I was there:
Me and my wife was scheduled for a romantic weekend in Rome, Italy.
Some weeks before the event I was surfing the Internet for what to see in Rome.
Colosseum, Spanish steps, Vatican, Pope - Cold Fusion seminar!? Believe it or
not - in front of my eyes is an invitation to a Cold Fusion seminar at Marconi
Department of Physics June 5, 2013. The first day of our stay in Rome!
How to persuade my better half to attend a seminar she have absolutely no interest in
instead of shopping and see world famous places? Actually I do not remember but first thing after installing ourselfes in a hotel near Terminus, the central train
station of Rome, we hurried through the subway and all the labyrinth streets of
Rome University Camp towards the Aula Amaldi at Marconi Department of Physics.
Did we get there in time? Was it for real? Yes. But I was not an official attendee, I had
not asked for or announced my participation. Why? First I was not shure this was for
real and second I am not a student, nor a physicist and did not know anyone involved.
I was expecting someone standing in the door, asking for paying a fee or I would just begging 'I came the whole way from Sweden for this etc'. To my surprise the door was just open, it was the feeling of a normal class session, young students took their places and down at the podium some older men was involved in intense discussions. We just sneaked in, took a place up by the students and before we know it the door closed. One of the men come up to me, look very glad to see me, shake my hand, says welcome. What can I do, I say thank you, I am Mats from Sweden (which was just the simple truth).
The men are heroes of Cold Fusion / LENR on which shoulders Rossi stands; Dr F. Celani (INFN Frascati), Dr Y. Srivastava (University and INFN of Perugia),
G. Hubler (SKINR University of Missori, USA), M. McKubre (SRI International, Stanford USA), V. Violante (ENEA, Frascati Italy) and Dr. A. Widom as in Widom-Larsen theory! Forgive me I am sure I missed a few names.
On the wall over the now closed door sits Einstein, Bohr and the pride of Italy: Marconi.
This is a moment in history for me.
For two hours we are lectured in the art of Cold Fusion and if I was not a believer before
I guarantee I could not for a second dismiss Cold Fusion / LENR as some fringe science now.
Half into the session a women come in with shopping bags, obviously the wife of some of the US professors, sits down just near my wife, giving her a look like "what are you doing here, shopping in Rome is fabulous"
She was right of course and I did not protest a single time during all my wifes shopping that weekend. We did get to see the famous places of Rome too, but I will never forget the session in Aula Amaldi.
